Born in Canton, Ohio, on February 6, 1956, to Steve and Kathryn Ristoff, David was a proud Macedonian American who positively impacted the lives of everyone around him.
David Robert Ristoff grew up in a loving home with his parents, his brother, Theodore, and his sister, Deborah. He was fortunate to also live with his Baba Donna, who significantly influenced his life and solidified his Macedonian heritage and culture. From humble beginnings, David worked hard for everything he achieved.
Excelling in his academic pursuits, David ‘booked’ his law school courses and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law.
During his time at Akron, David met the love of his life, Darla Baker, and the two were wed on August 11, 1979. Married for nearly 45 years, their relationship epitomized love and devotion.
After moving to Florida, David had two sons, David and Michael, and became arguably the best father to date.
David was a talented drummer and passed his love of music down to his kids. Actively involved in his children’s lives, he spent his time coaching their hockey teams, helping with schoolwork, and instilling the core values he was so respected for.
David had an incredible career as an attorney, where he helped an innumerable amount of clients — many pro bono. While spearheading the Florida Bar, David successfully disbarred his once legal hero, F. Lee Bailey, and cemented himself in history.
David was much more than a great lawyer — he was an extremely generous provider, devout Christian, and outstanding role model. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, and cousins across the globe.
Gone too soon, David will be remembered often and fondly.
